I frequently do not behave as many believe that a "good Christian" should. The first official release of Theophany Records was a Satanic Poet who I've come to love and respect over the years I've known him. Mike often tempts me to behaviors that I should know better than to fall into so easily... but I remain firm in my resolve to support him in his work.

I often qualify my belief in Christ with terms like "Perennial Christianity" or "Christian Existentialism". I have studied other religions and promote dialogue and peace between faiths. I believe that there is really one true religion. Goodness is apparent. So is evil. One of the most valuable teachings of Christ is "Thou Shalt Not Judge".

I often struggle against the meaning of Christ's teachings and their appropriate application. It is not always easy or safe to love one's enemies, for example. And yet... I keep coming back to the essential teachings of Christ, and I am always amazed at how quickly they heal me when practiced. Love heals. Love never fails.

I was deeply moved when one of my favorite musicians passed away. George Harrison's last words were a quote of Paramahansa Yogananda:

"Everything can wait. Your search for God cannot wait"

George added the words "... and love one another".

It is my hope that these words will echo deeply in the souls of everyone who reads them.
